Blue Horseshoe implemented Manhattan Associates ILS 2007.1 at Phoenix Marketing’s Southern California facility in April, 2008. ILS was integrated into the inbound, outbound, and work order assembly areas. RF technology was introduced to replace the manual entry and numerous systems that were being used by in all areas of the distribution facility. Blue Horseshoe also developed an interface between the Phoenix Marketing ERP system and ILS to allow for automated communication of purchase order and sales order information, as well as inventory transactions in real-time.

The implementation of ILS provided Phoenix Marketing with almost instant improvement in inventory accuracy as well as improved inventory visibility throughout all levels of the organization. ILS also allowed for increased inventory velocity in all areas of the warehouse, especially in the work order assembly areas. The implementation of RF eliminated the need for dual and manual entry into multiple systems, and allowed for real-time updates to inventory, purchase orders, and shipments. Phoenix Marketing also had customers who required immediate visibility to orders and inventory via the Internet, which was achieved through the implementation of ILS reporting services and the ILS Trading Partner Management tool.
